Golden Sunshine is a comprehensive and affordable travel coverage underwritten by Asia Specialty Insurance Limited. This plan is specially designed the ways travellers want - cover the unexpected when travel.


Golden Sunshine offers you:

Pays a cash sum up to USD 50,000 in the event of accidental death;

Pays a cash sum up to USD 50,000 in the event of total permanent disablement due to accident;

Medical Benefits for Overseas Travels

  1. Covers medical expenses due to accidental or sickness up to USD 15,000.
  2. Cover emergency evacuation in the event of accidental injury or death up to USD 25,000.
  3. Cover mortal remains repatriation in the event of accidental injury or death up to USD 12,500.
  4. Compassionate care up to USD 1,500.

Travel inconvenience benefits

  1. Trip cancellation (reimburse up to maximum of USD 500 for cost of flight due to the hospitalization for serious illness or accidental bodily injuries or death of the Insured Person and the Insured Person’s immediate family member).
  2. Trip curtailment (reimburse up to maximum of USD 250 for returning flight when the Insured Person needs to curtail the trip due to hospitalization for accidental bodily injuries or death or illness of the insured person and the Insured Person’s immediate family member).
  3. Flight delay (reimburse up to maximum of USD 500 in the event the scheduled flight in which the Insured Person is booked to travel  is delayed for at least 6 consecutive hours. The reimbursement amount shall be USD 50  for the first 6 hours consecutive delay and additional USD 50 for every 6 hours consecutive delay.
  4. Luggage delay (reimburse up to maximum of USD 100 If the Insured Person’s luggage is delayed for at least six (6) hours form the actual time of arrival at scheduled destination outside the Insured Person’s home country during the Journey). Not applicable to the Insured Person’s return journey.
  5. Loss of travel documents (pay up to maximum of USD 250 for travel and accommodation expenses including cost of obtaining replacement passports, travel tickets and other relevant travel documents).
  6. Luggage damage/ loss (compensates up to maximum of USD 500 for loss or damage to the Insured Person’s personal luggage and/or personal effects during the Journey, maximum limit USD 100 /item).

You pay USD 50 per year or Ringgit Malaysia equivalent(RM 215) at the point of purchase or renewal, and you will gain the benefits as described in the Product Highlight. In addition, below are the other type of benefits included in the Golden Sunshine policy for your kind perusal.

Golden Sunshine is offered to individual aged between 19 to 70 on their next birthday. Standard terms and conditions apply.This type of insurance is suitable if you're employed or self-employed and want to protect your earnings or if you want to have additional financial protection in the event of an accident.

This insurance plan covers accident happened worldwide except Afghanistan, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Sudan or Syria and each trip shall not exceed 60 consecutive days.


Those who are involved in the following occupations shall be covered during off-duty only;

  1. Police, army / military and law enforcement officers
  2. Aircraft testers, pilots or crew
  3. Divers
  4. Racing drivers
  5. Jockeys
  6. Persons engaged in professional sports activities
  7. Persons engaged in underground mining and tunnelling
  8. Firemen
  9. Seamen and sea fishermen
  10. War correspondents
  11. Oil rig workers
  12. Steeplejacks
  13. Stevedores
  14. Persons engaged in ambulance services
  15. Sawyers, timber logging workers, drivers/attendants of timber lorries and winches
  16. Wood working machinists or Using of wood-working machinery driven by mechanical power
  17. Explosive handlers
  18. Those who are required to travel on motorcycle while on duty.

Our policy’s terms and conditions have implications for the way you are compensated, so it pays to understand them. They may look lengthy, but they are straightforward. Here they are:

  1. Golden Sunshine Travel Insurance Plan is available to aged between 19 to 70 on their next birthday, must be in normal health and free from any physical deformity.
  2. This plan has a waiting period of seven (7) days for domestic travel accident claim. You will not be compensated if accident happened within seven (7) days from the date of your 1st policy issued. For oversea accident claim, proof of travelling after your policy issued is necessary, if claim occurred within the first seven (7) days.
  3. It will not cover those who have lapsed their policy or stopped paying their premiums.
  4. The company limit of liability under Medical Benefits Section is subject to a maximum of USD 25,000.
  5. This insurance plan covers accident happened worldwide except Afghanistan, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Sudan or Syria and each trip shall not exceed 60 consecutive days.
  6. Special Exclusions applicable to Trip cancellation & Trip Curtailment. The company shall not be liable for any loss resulting directly or indirectly (in whole or in part) from:
    1. criminal acts committed by the Insured Person.
    2. war, riot, popular movements, terrorist acts.
    3. any-existing medical conditions.
    4. any effect of a source of radioactivity.
    5. pollution
    6. epidemics
    7. pandemic
    8. natural catastrophes
    9. climatic events such as lack of snow, etc.
    10. for any loss which is compensated by the Airline.
  7. Special Exclusions applicable to Accompanying Baggage and Personal Effects:
    1. This insurance does not cover:
      1. Animals
      2. Automobiles and automobile equipment, trailer and caravans, boat and other means of transport equipment.
      3. contraband or illegal goods.
      4. documents, identity papers, Credit and payment cards, transport tickets, cash, stocks and securities.
      5. equipment for professional use.
      6. eye glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, prosthetic limbs, artificial teeth or dental bridges.
      7. keys.
      8. musical instruments, object of art, antiques, collector’s item, furniture.
      9. perishables and consumables.
      10. ski sets, bicycles, sailboards, golf clubs, tennis rackets and other sporting equipment except whilst checked in as baggage.
    2. The company shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from:
      1. breakage of brittle or fragile articles, cameras, musical instruments, radios and such similar property.
      2. confiscation or expropriation by order of any government or public authority.
      3. criminal acts.
      4. gradual deterioration or wear and tear.
      5. insects or vermin.
      6. inherent vice or damage.
      7. mysterious disappearance.
      8. transportation of contraband or illegal trade.
  8. You won’t be compensated for any event directly or indirectly arising out of:
    1. War, civil war, invasion, insurrection, revolution, use of military power or usurpation of government or military power.
    2. Martial law or state of siege or any of the events or causes which determine the proclamation or maintenance of martial law or state of siege.
    3. Deliberately self-inflicted injury or suicide or the criminal or illegal act.
    4. Fits, hernia, illness of any kind venereal disease including those relating to the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage, confinement or any complications thereof, intoxicating liquor, drugs or misuse of drugs prescribed by a legally qualified medical practitioner, suicide, self-inflicted injury, judicial pronouncement, unlawful act on the part of the Participant or wilful exposure of the Participant to unnecessary danger except in an attempt to save human life.
    5. While the insured is in a state of unsound mind, drugs overdosed, gas inhalation and/or suffocation, food and/or drink poisoning, provoked and/or unprovoked assault or murder, hijacking and/or disappearance.
    6. Any act of any person acting on behalf of or in connection with any organization with activities directed towards the overthrow by force of any de Jure or de facto Government or to the Influencing of it by terrorism or violence.
    7. While the Participant is using power-operated wood working machinery or engaging in Hunting, Trekking activity in any place with height more than four thousand (4,000) meters above sea level, Mountaineering, Steeple chasing, Polo, Racing of any kind, riding a two-wheel motorcycle, Water Skiing, Ice or Winter Sports of any kind, Scuba diving, Skin diving of any kind including the use of Aqua-lungs, Boxing, Wrestling and Training or performing any form of Martial Arts and all aerial sporting activities unless previous consent of the Operator has been obtained and the Certificate has been endorsed accordingly. In any event whatsoever any person engaging or participating in any sport on a professional basis, will not be covered under the Certificate.
    8. Participating in or training for any hazardous or dangerous sport or competition or riding or driving in any form of race or competition.
    9. Sickness, disease or any kind of infection however contracted, even if through injury and/or snake, insect and/or animal bite. This Exclusion however, does not apply to sickness or disease directly resulting from medical or surgical treatment rendered necessary by an injury or to infection directly resulting from an injury, provided that in each case the injury itself is covered by this policy.
    10. The insured person having a blood alcohol content over the prescribed legal limit when driving or operating any motor vehicle, and/or being under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or being under the influence of any drug other than a drug taken or administered by, or in accordance with the advice of, a legally qualified medical practitioner.
    11. While the Participant is in on or ascending into or descending from any aircraft other than a fully licensed commercial passenger carrying aircraft in which the Participant is travelling as a passenger (on scheduled flights only) other than as a member of the crew and not for the purpose of undertaking any trade or technical operation therein or thereon.
    12. By or contributed by or arising from ionizing radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel.
    13. By or arising out of or consequent upon or contributed to by HIV infection, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or AIDS Related Complex (ARC) howsoever this syndrome has been acquired or may be named.
    14. Any action caused or an injury inflicted by any person deriving benefit from this insurance policy or by any person conspiring with any person deriving benefit from this insurance policy.
    15. Any disability, abnormality or deformity which originated prior to the Inception Date of this insurance policy.

Note:

  1. All certificates, information and evidence required by the Insurance Company must be supplied at the expense of the claimant in the form prescribed by the Insurance Company
  2. The Insured Person may have to undergo further medical examination as required by the Insurance Company at the expense of the Insurance Company.
  3. In the event of death of the Insured Person, the Insurance Company shall be entitled to have a post-mortem exmination at their own expense and notice shall when praticable be given to the Insurance Company before interment or cremation stating the time and place of any inquest appointed.

Submit your claim form complete with necessary supporting documents to Asia Specialty Insurance Limited, 8A Floor, Wisma Genting, Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Asia Specialty Insurance Limited reserve the right to request other documents in addition to, or in lieu of, the above documents for the substantiation of claims.

We recommend that claimants keep copies of all claims submissions until they have been fully settled. 

If you do not get a response within 14 business days, please call Asia Specialty Insurance Limited Customer Service Department at 603 2162 1128 giving your certificate number and brief details of your claim.
