ManuEZ-Med is a non-participating, regular premium medical plan which provides coverage for hospitalisation and surgical expenses up to age 99 (age next birthday), subject to limits set in the Benefit Schedule.

This is a pure protection product and it does not provide any savings or investment elements.

Duration of Cover: This plan is renewable on each policy anniversary up to Insured's age 99. The coverage will cease upon the exhaustion of overall lifetime limit, death of Insured or surrender/cancellation of plan, whichever is earlier.

ManuEZ-Med is only available for Malaysians with a permanent address in Malaysia. Terms and conditions apply.

Increasing Premium With Age

The premium amount payable may increase as your age increases. Take note that all subsequent premium payable will be automatically charged from the authorized debit card/credit card based on the selected payment mode.

Some Exclusions To Take Note

ManuEZ-Med does not cover any hospitalisation, surgery or charges incurred due to the following, such as but not limited to:

  1. Self-inflicted injuries
  2. Hazardous sports
  3. Pre-existing conditions

Waiting Period

The Waiting Period is a common practice imposed by all insurers in medical insurance. It means that you will only be eligible for your medical plan's benefits after 120 days for certain specified illnesses, or 30 days for non-specified illnesses, from the Issue Date or Reinstatement Date, whichever is later, of your policy.

Some Other Key Terms And Conditions

  1. Importance of disclosure - You are required to disclose all the facts which you know or ought to know, fully and faithfully, otherwise the policy issued may be invalidated.
  2. Free-look period - You may cancel your policy by returning it with written objection within 15 days from the date of receipt. All premiums paid (less any medical fee incurred) will be refunded to you.
  3. This policy is renewable on each policy anniversary at the premium rates in effect at that time. Unless renewed, the coverage will cease on expiry date and we shall not be liable for any expenses that take place after expiry date.

Scenario 1: Admission to Panel Hospitals (with a Guarantee Letter)

What is a Guarantee Letter (GL)?

A Guarantee Letter (GL) is a letter issued by Manulife's appointed third party administrator, INTEGRATED HEALTH PLANS (M) SDN BHD ("IHP"), to facilitate our medical cardholders for hassle-free hospital admission to panel hospitals.

With the GL, IHP on behalf of Manulife will guarantee and pay the medical cardholder’s eligible medical expenses incurred during their hospitalisation according to the policy’s terms and conditions.

Admission to and discharge from panel hospitals with a GL

Admission Steps:

  1. Insured arrives at the panel hospital.
  2. Insured shows e-medical card via ManuMed App.
  3. Hospital contacts IHP to verify insured's insurance eligibility & request for GL.
  4. Once GL is issued, insured gets admitted to the hospital.

Discharge Steps:

  1. Hospital prepares itemised bills and reports.
  2. Hospital sends bills and reports to IHP for assessment.
  3. Insured pays any charges that are not covered by policy.
  4. Insured is ready to be discharged from hospital.

Notes:

  1. Depending on hospital policies, you may be required to pay a deposit for your hospitalisation.
  2. Please note that you may be required to provide additional documents for verification when requesting a GL.
  3. Insured will be notified via SMS when the GL is approved.
  4. If IHP is not able to issue a GL to you, you may still proceed with your hospitalisation and file a claim to Manulife for reimbursement after being discharged from hospital.

Aside from giving you the financial protection you need, this plan is also tied to our easicircle reward system. This means you will be given the chance to earn some easipoints, which have monetary value, when you refer your friends to join us and take up this insurance plan. Circle One = up to 12% easipoints from Premium
